School Districts: Center, Hickman Mills, Kansas City, Raytown
Though most well-known as the primary urban core for the Kansas City metro, the city limits of Kansas City, Mo. span more than 318 miles. From its boulevards and parks, to a $4.5 billion revitalization of its urban core, Kansas City is a uniquely beautiful and exciting place to live.
  • Johnson County, Kan.
    Population: 496,691
School Districts: Blue Valley, Olathe, Shawnee Mission, Spring Hill
Emerged as a pre-eminent suburban community in the 1950s, and currently one of the most affluent counties in the nation. Prairie Village, Mission Hills, Overland Park, Leawood, Roeland Park and Mission make up the original “inner suburbs” and boast mature tree-lines streets and post-war era housing. Development spreads south and west to newer communities of Olathe and Lenexa where you can find boundless housing opportunities limited only by your budget and specific needs.
  • Eastern Jackson County, Mo.
    Population: 660,100
School Districts: Blue Springs, Fort Osage, Grain Valley, Grandview, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Lone Jack, Oak Grove, Raytown

This area has seen incredible housing and residential growth in the last several years. The communities of Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs and Independence have seen the most dramatic changes. Independence’s historic claim to fame, of course, is being the former home of President Harry Truman, not to mention being the home of the Royals MLB and Chiefs NFL twin stadiums. Lee’s Summit is one of America’s top 100 small cities according to CNN/Money magazine. Blue Springs has just broken ground on a $1.5 billion residential and lifestyle development encompassing 1,520 acres.
  • The Northland (Missouri)
    Population: 278,555
School Districts: Liberty, North Kansas City, Park Hill

The Northland offers an eclectic mix of housing, shopping and dining opportunities. Offers small town Main Street, leafy neighborhoods to traditional single family subdivisions to extravagant lake and golf course communities. The best access to Kansas City International Airport in the city for frequent travelers. Spans from North Kansas City just outside of the downtown limits, to northern-most suburbs of Liberty and Parkville.
  • Kansas City, Kan./Wyandotte County
    Population: 144,500
School Districts: Bonner Springs, Kansas City, Kan., Piper, Turner

With the development of the Kansas Speedway and adjoining Village West entertainment district, housing in this area has seen an incredible surge. New housing permits are being issued at a faster rate in Wyandotte County than in any other area of the metro, increasing nearly 50 percent from 2005-2006. Long standing attractions include the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater featuring live concerts by America’s most popular performers, and the Renaissance Festival held in Bonner Springs each fall.
