- Nueterra Capital Partners—based in Manhattan, Kan. Private equity firm specializing in venture and growth equity, buyouts and real estate investment in healthcare and bioscience industries.
- MidPoint Ag Fund*—based in Indiana. Venture capital fund investing in promising venture stage companies in the food and agriculture related industries.

*The Kansas Bioscience Authority has committed $50 million of investment in the following eight venture capital firms who are required to raise an additional $25 million and open offices in the state of Kansas. $250 million in new venture capital funding will be available in the Kansas City region. State Funding Resources
- Kansas Bioscience Authority—Heartland Bio Ventures—based in Olathe, Kan. The KBA was created in 2004 by the Kansas Legislature with the sole purpose of advancing Kansas' leadership in bioscience development. This $581 million fund has various programs to build world class research capacity, grow bioscience early stage companies, expand Kansas bioscience clusters and recruit new bioscience companies to the state. Heartland Bio Ventures specialized in business assistance and support for promising early stage companies in Kansas.
- Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation—based in Topeka, Kan. Public/private partnership established by the state of Kansas to promote technology-based economic development. Through support of Centers of Excellence, hands-on business assistance at incubator facilities around the state of Kansas and through direct equity investments; KTEC is focused on growing the technology base in Kansas.
- Kansas Angels Tax Credit—Administered by KTEC; this program enables accredited investors to qualify for a 50% tax credit on their cash investment of up to $50,000 in a certified Kansas business.
- Missouri Technology Corporation—Established in Missouri Legislature in 1994; MTC is a private not-for-profit charged with attracting to Missouri more research funding and technology companies within the life sciences, information technology and advanced manufacturing. MTC has various funding and grant programs aimed at growing the bioscience sector in Missouri.

Investment Capital Conferences
- Invest Midwest—this annual conference facilitates investment in the region's top life science, technology and alternative energy companies. The conference regularly attracts more than 300 attendees and has helped generate more than $350 million in investment capital in the past ten years.
- Animal Health Investment Forum—this annual forum is held in the Kansas City region and generates investment for early stage animal health-related companies located all over the world. In its first year in 2009, 175 attendees representing 50+ animal health companies and 11 venture capital funds attended to hear presentations from 17 early stage animal health companies from around the world.
