Midwest Mechanical Contractors, Inc.
Kansas City's own Midwest Mechanical Contractors, Inc., provides a full range of construction services for projects both in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area and nationwide. While the company's expertise is in mechanical installations for healthcare and other institutional facilities, Midwest Mechanical also specializes in energy production / power generation plants, industrial/process facilities such as food processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing, and other commercial mechanical construction and service.
Midwest Mechanical is a multiple recipient of the Outstanding Mechanical Installation (OMI) award sponsored by the Mechanical Contractors Association of Greater Kansas City. This biennial, competitive award is presented as a mark of distinction for the quality of piping installation. MCA presented Midwest Mechanical with the most recent OMI awards for work done on the H. Roe Bartle Hall Meeting Rooms Expansion project in 2005 and the University of Kansas Biomedical Research Facility in 2006.
The company's philosophy of "Right People...Right Solutions...Right Results" is even recognized by key opinion leaders outside the company. Recently, Ingram's magazine named Midwest Mechanical as a 2009 Best Places to Work in Kansas City. And in October of 2008, the company was recognized with the American Heart Association's Start! Fit-Friendly Gold Award and a Start! Fit Friendly Innovative Workplace Award for its wellness programs offered to employees. Additionally, the company's commitment to a Work Safe culture has been recognized by inclusion in the Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Build Safe Partnership Program (BSPP).
As a construction prime and subcontractor and a plumbing, process and HVAC services provider to business and industry, Midwest Mechanical believes that incorporating sustainable practices into the company's business model and client solutions is the right thing to do for both today and the future. Over the past four years, half of the company's construction professionals have achieved their Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design (LEED) AP status. As a mechanical contractor and service provider, Midwest Mechanical can create a positive impact on their clients' buildings and the communities in which they are built.
As a result of this commitment to sustainable practices, Midwest Mechanical Service, Inc., the company's service division, earned the U.S. Department of Energy, Energy Star Product Provider status and the Mechanical Service Contractor's Association (MSCA)-GreenStar designation in October 2008. Recognition by the DOE as an Energy Star Partner - and one of the initial 11 Mechanical GreenStar Service Contractors - is indicative of both companies commitment to providing clients, subcontractors, vendors, and employees with the Right People...Right Solutions...Right Results.
As a 100% employee-owned organization through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), Midwest Mechanical is a unique corporation, unlike many other in the construction industry. The company - which started from humble beginnings as a family-owned business in 1932 - has always embraced quality, relationships, and entrepreneurship. These unifying themes were instrumental in guiding Midwest Mechanical into becoming the nationally recognized construction leader it is today.
