Business Formation Fees
Kansas
The Kansas Secretary of State assesses a $75 filing fee for domestic corporations and a $100 filing fee for foreign (non-Kansas) corporations. Domestic and foreign corporations are also required to pay a fee of $20 for issuing or filing a variety of corporate documents.
Missouri
Missouri's initial fee for a domestic corporation is $58 on the first $30,000 of authorized capital plus $5 on each additional $10,000. For foreign (non-Missouri) corporations, Missouri assesses a $155 fee for issuance of a certificate of authority to do business in Missouri. Foreign and domestic corporations pay $45 annually for registration with the Secretary of State's office.

All statistical references made to Kansas City Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) include the counties of Cass, Clay, Clinton, Jackson, Lafayette, Platte and Ray in Missouri, and Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas. The greater Kansas City area also includes the adjoining Lawrence, KS, St. Joseph, MO, and Topeka, KS MSAs, as well as the Atchison, KS, Chillicothe, MO, Ottawa, KS, and Warrensburg, MO areas.
